Hey Birders! 🐥📱🎉

Earlier this week I received PiCO from an Indiegogo campaign I had backed a few months ago. PiCO is among the first portable gadgets that tests air quality. PiCO tethers to your phone via a short USB C cable. It uses the phone as a power supply and gives more detailed information within an app. 

It can detect:

• PM2.5 (finer particles)
• PM10
• Temperature
• Humidity
• VOC (volatile organic compounds)
• CO₂eq (greenhouse gasses)

 

This is a PiCO reading after it rained. The PiCO has LEDs in the front that indicate PM2.5 and PM10 readings. They will light up blue for good air, green for moderate, yellow for unhealthy, and red for very unhealthy. 

This gadget will be super helpful for birders like me. 

I have had asthma all of my life and (sadly) only recently found that the air quality immediately affects my health. Before I got a Dyson fan, I had thought it was only allergens that made me sick. 

I absolutely love gadgets. I look forward to using PiCO! (what a great name, huh! 😃)
